The Terada Laboratory conducts development and research on MRI equipment and imaging methods. Based on physics and information engineering, we develop key technologies for MRI practice and apply them not only to the medical field but also to a wide range of fields such as plants, food, and material engineering, etc. MRI is a field that widely crosses clinical medicine, basic medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, etc. Our laboratory aims to play a role as a hub laboratory that organically links each field and MRI.

Our laboratory has five permanent magnet MRI machines and three superconducting magnets, and we have developed all hardware and software other than magnets on our own. We customize peripheral devices and imaging methods to meet the needs of new imaging techniques and applications, and explore optimal solutions.

Currently, our focus is on the development of a mobile MRI examination vehicle mounted in a regular car, development of quantitative MRI technology, application of deep learning to MRI, and MRI-based microcopy (MRI imaging with resolution on the order of micrometers). We are also actively collaborating with other university laboratories (including medical schools), research institutes, and companies. If you are interested in MRI-based measurements, please feel free to contact us.
